Delamotte Brut

SKU 07903

Blended from 50% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier, this is marked by its power devoid of any aggressiveness, its pleasant freshness, its fullness and clean, fruity finish. This brut champagne is truly delightful, balanced and elegant. A lovely light gold colour, with great purity on the nose, along with notes of citrus, white flowers, lemon peel and moss. Its unctuous freshness is underlined by the subtlety of its effervescence. Any excuse is good to drink this wine : a generous, clean champagne, a champagne of tenderness and smiles, a must for the cellars of those who love life. Wonderful as an aperitif.

Wine EnthusiastThere is good bottle age here, the wine full and ripe with an integrated dosage that is relatively high. Flavors of sweet pastry go with white nectarines and pears. It's deliciously balanced, finishing with a soft, fresh aftertaste.

International Wine CellarLight yellow. Spicy lemon and lime aromas are complicated by ginger and talc, with a suave floral quality gaining strength in the glass. Fresh and energetic, offering racy citrus and pear flavors that are strikingly pure and mineral-driven. One of the brightest and most lithe examples of this cuvee that I've had in recent years and reminiscent of the elegant versions I remember from the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Wine SpectatorA hint of yeasty bread dough accents flavors of pippin apple, smoke, Meyer lemon and stony mineral. Firm and focused, with a raw almond note on the moderate finish. Drink now through 2015. 5,000 cases imported.

Wine AdvocateThe NV Brut is a gorgeous, deep wine endowed with an attractive core of rich fruit. This is an especially mid-weight, expansive Champagne with commendable balance and a long, finessed finish. Smoke, minerals and earthiness add complexity on the close. This is Lot # L.81.283.07, disgorged, October 2007. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016.
