Colour: Deep, intense cherry red color. Aroma: With a powerful nose with intense notes of ripe wild berries (blackberries) and hints of cedar and vanilla; all very nicely blended. Palate: Impressive attack in the mouth. Meaty and exceptionally well-balanced, with notes of stewed fruit over a background of toasted wood accompanied by supple tannins. Persistent aftertaste with a marked personality.

Wine EnthusiastThis is a well-made, typical Rioja Crianza. Aromas of saucy cherry and cassis come with a mild horsey element. A solid mouthfeel with firm tannins supports earthy, savory plum, berry and spice flavors. A drying finish runs long and grabby.

Wine AdvocateThe 2011 Crianza, pure Tempranillo aged in a combination of American and French oak barrels for 18 months, has some animal aromas of leather, cured meat and wet fur over a core of ripe black fruit. The palate is accessible with unnoticeable tannins and some flavors that bring back the sensations found in the nose. A whopping 840,000 bottles were produced.

Wine SpectatorTar and anise notes give an austere character to this firm red. Espresso and smoky accents mask modest cherry fruit flavors. Drink now. 30,000 cases made.
