Santa Duc Gigondas Les Garancieres 2010
Wine SpectatorVery solid, featuring a slightly gutsy edge to the full-bodied core of blackberry paste, roasted fig and steeped plum fruit. Ganache and alder notes line the finish, revealing ample grip. Best from 2014 through 2020. 100 cases imported.
Wine AdvocateA blend of roughly 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah that's aged in older foudre and tank, the 2010 Gigondas Les Garancieres offers a peppery, spice-driven profile, with plenty of black cherry, seaweed, leather and licorice aromas developing in the glass. Medium-bodied, rich and savory, with building tannin and good length, it should be given another year or so in the cellar, and drink nicely through 2020.
