Wine AdvocateThe NV Cuvée Louis is another fabulous wine from Tarlant. The Cuvée Louis is equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, predominantly 1998, with a dash of 1997 and 1996, fermented in oak barrels. A warm, explosive core of fruit radiates from this generous, expansive Champagne. Hints of hazelnut and pear inform the long, beautifully articulated finish. Despite the low dosage of three grams per liter and no malolactic fermentation, this shows remarkable texture and creaminess. This bottled was disgorged in May 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2018.
