Eye: Yellow gilt robe, amber reflections, fine and crystal bubbles. Nose: Generous and powerful bouquet, wooded and gourmand notes (dried fruits, vanilla, toasted). Mouth: Superb mouth: unctuousness, complexity and fullness, soft honey notes in the palate; full, mature and vinous wine: a great ageing Champagne. Food pairing: Champagne of exception for rare and particular moments. Champagne of great expression for meditation or gastronomy.

Wine AdvocateThe NV Cuvée Louis is another fabulous wine from Tarlant. The Cuvée Louis is equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, predominantly 1998, with a dash of 1997 and 1996, fermented in oak barrels. A warm, explosive core of fruit radiates from this generous, expansive Champagne. Hints of hazelnut and pear inform the long, beautifully articulated finish. Despite the low dosage of three grams per liter and no malolactic fermentation, this shows remarkable texture and creaminess. This bottled was disgorged in May 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2018.

Wine SpectatorBread aromas mix with a rich smoke note in this vibrant, yeasty Champagne, which layers these elements with apple compote, blackberry preserves and candied citrus peel flavors, all set in a polished package despite the muscular framework, with a long, smoky finish. Drink now through 2016. 100 cases imported.
