Domaine du Vissoux - Pierre-Marie Chermette Brouilly Pierreux 2015
Robe: Deep dark ruby. Nose: Starting of on the floral side (violet), followed by deeper, ripe fruit aromas. Palate: Both refined and firm The granitic soil gives the wine a beautiful pure, forthright texture on a foundation of rounded tannins. The end is long and fresh. A mix of small red and black fruit: cherry, strawberry, blackberry. There may be a touch of liquorice at the end. Matching it with food: Brouilly has the great advantage of being the perfect partner to a multitude of dishes, so many in fact that we're not going to list them all. Please feel free to have a look at the pairings for our other red wines This is a very versatile wine; Set in the heart of the Beaujolais vinegrowing region it is bordered to the north by its brothers, the Crus and to the south by its cousins, Beaujolais Villages. Original pairing: with quail and truffles or an oxtail risotto.
