Calera Mt. Harlan Viognier 2014

SKU 09090

Aromas of white peach, honeysuckle and lilac waft from this bright, beautiful Viognier. Flavors of macadamia nut, Honeycrisp apple and talc wrap around a core of fine-grained tannin and minerality with hints of lime and white almond. The finish is creamy and persistent.

Wine EnthusiastThis is one of the harder grapes to tame in California, yet those wanting to walk the razor blade balance between ripeness and freshness should copy this Josh Jensen version. Candied nectarine, white peach, cherimoya and jasmine show on the ripe, honeyed nose, but then the palate restrains that exuberance with chamomile, sour pear peels and sea salt flavors.

Wine SpectatorThe toasted coconut and honeysuckle flavors are bold and spicy, with a core of juicy mango and peach. Intense and fleshy, lingering on the finish. Drink now. 562 cases made.
