Château-La-Clusiere St. Emilion 1999
Wine AdvocateThe dense purple-colored 1999 La Clusiere is from a 2.5 acre vineyard above Pavie. It boasts a gloriously sweet, perfumed bouquet of minerals, new oak, and plum liqueur intermixed with cherries and assorted black fruits. The wine is medium to full-bodied, elegant, and flamboyant, with a chewy texture and well-integrated acidity, tannin, and wood. It should be at its finest between 2003-2020. The Le Pin of St.-Emilion?
Wine SpectatorLots of vanilla, smoky, tobacco and cherry character. Medium-bodied, with good fruit and a silky, smoky aftertaste. Lacks a center-palate. Best after 2002. 250 cases made.
